Advancing Veterinary Dermatology & Eye Care: Insights from MP Labo Europe

Post summary: Discover key insights from the MP Labo European Partners Meeting in Versailles, where Samaxia joined veterinary experts and global distributors to explore advances in veterinary dermatology, non-prescription eye care and feline health. Learn how evidence-led innovation, upcoming research on Sensiderm, and international best practice are shaping the future of pet healthcare for UK veterinary practices and pet owners.

Over three energising days in Versailles, France, Samaxia Ltd attended the MP Labo European Partners Meeting - an event focused on learning, collaboration, and raising standards in everyday pet healthcare. Bringing together partners from multiple regions, the meeting combined practical discussion with clinical insight across key therapy areas including veterinary dermatology, ophthalmology, and nutritional supplementation.

A Global Community Sharing Best Practice

One of the standout highlights was the opportunity to build new relationships and openly exchange best practice with MP Labo distributors from Singapore, Hungary, Finland, Poland, Cyprus, Greece, Switzerland and of course the UK. Each market has its own dynamics, but many themes were shared:

  • Growing emphasis on new eye-care innovations, as well as  topical approaches as part of dermatology support in practice
  • Rising demand for non-prescription, evidence-led pet healthcare options
  • The value of clear education and practical materials that support veterinary teams
  • Ongoing focus on responsible product development, including environmental considerations

For Samaxia, these conversations are invaluable because they help shape how we support UK veterinary teams with relevant, practice-friendly resources and product information.

Veterinary Dermatology: A Deep Dive into the MP Labo Range

A key focus of the meeting was veterinary dermatology, an area that affects many pets and is a common reason for veterinary consultations. Partners explored the MP Labo dermatology portfolio, including:

  • Sensiderm (including Balm, Shampoo and Spray)
  • Keratoderm Shampoo
  • Honeyderm
  • Pyoskin Wipes
  • Physiovet (new range)

We also heard from European Dermatology Specialist Dr Manolis Saridomichelakis, who shared clinical insight on the importance of topical approaches in dermatological case management. The session included discussion of work exploring the effects of Sensiderm Spray.

MP Labo also shared that new papers are expected to be published relating to some off the Sensiderm range, underscoring continued investment in science backed evidence-led development and clinical learning.

Ophthalmology: Moving Towards a Complete Non-Prescription Eye Care Range

Another key theme was veterinary ophthalmology, with discussion around practical, non-prescription eye care options that can be used confidently as part of everyday routines and peri-procedural support within practice protocols.

Samaxia reviewed upcoming developments that are expected to support our ability to offer a complete non-prescription eye care range, aligned with the needs of UK veterinary teams and backed by robust product education.

Feline Health: New Developments on the Horizon

The meeting also provided an exciting look at new product developments in areas where vets and pet owners are seeking more support options, including:

  • Products designed to support cats with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD)
  • Products intended to support cats affected by Feline herpesvirus (FHV)-related challenges

As always, any UK launch plans will be approached with care, prioritising compliant communication, practical guidance, and clear information for veterinary teams and pet owners.

Not All Work: Networking, Great Food, and a Palace Finale

Alongside the learning, the meeting had a brilliant human side too: time to connect, share stories, and strengthen partnerships across borders. The event concluded with a private tour of the Palace of Versailles, followed by a walk through the grand gardens a memorable way to close three packed days.
